Rev. Jeff Munnis

I began having mystical experiences as a child—out-of-body experiences, strange dreams, and overwhelming feelings during Sunday communions that led to blackouts. Whenever I asked others about my experiences, I was told they were just fantasy, or just my imagination. No one suggested that I should be curious about what was happening to me. When I was nineteen, the deacon at my church asked a question that stunned me because I couldn’t answer it: “What does it mean to you when I say to you that God loves you?” This question sent me on a quest to look for an answer. I studied religions, learned Transcendental Meditation, investigated Carl Jung, Edgar Cayce, and others. I joined a “Search for God” group. During this time, I had a vision of Jesus, an out-of-body experience, lucid dreams, and dream messages that compelled me to look at life in new ways.

The road to today had many turns, ups and downs, and included more transpersonal experiences, such as visions, most of them with or about Jesus, but also several with the Hindu saint Mahavatar Babaji. Most of my spiritual effort was meaningful, but it wasn’t integrated into my life until midlife, when everything changed. After a divorce, a remarriage, and a return to school, new acquaintances seemed to see something in me that I was not ready to acknowledge. My wife Stelli’s great-grandmother, who I was told saw dead people, met me for the first time and said, “You see them too!” which was true. A psychologist, Dr. Marcia Emery, an intuitive and author of books on dreams, met me for the first time and said, “You’re a closet intuitive.” I didn’t really know how to respond, but soon I didn’t have a choice. In the Fall of 2003, I started having spontaneous channeling experiences, which Stelli began transcribing. Eventually, I was able to transition entering the channeling sessions through meditation.

Since 2003, I’ve had multiple visions and a number of other spiritual/psychic experiences, and I’ve found other mystics who have described experiences that I believe are the same as mine. I continue to work, write, and create art. The channeling seems to happen to some degree in everything I do—it certainly informs everything. I’ve learned that I am at my best when I’m like a beginner, approaching my experiences with complete awe and curiosity. I study the material that comes through me (“the readings”), and I see them first, as personal revelations, guidance for myself and Stelli. We now have over 22 years of material, some of which we share in our books and educational materials.

I am an ordained United Church of Christ minister and hold an MFA in creative writing from Goddard College.

Dr. Stelli Munnis

I am a transpersonal counselor, healer, and artist who accompanies individuals on their spiritual journeys. I believe that the Spirit of God flows through every individual and that we are never separated from God’s love and truth. I experience the Divine through my relationships (especially with Jeff) and lived experience. My spiritual practice consists of prayer, meditation, creativity, dream work, mindfulness, and studying the material that has come through channeled readings given by Jeff. My desire is for others to benefit from the wisdom we have gained, and for our lives to be enhanced by the love and wisdom that others share with us.

I have a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology with a certificate in Spiritual Guidance from Sofia University (formerly the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology).

Meet Brady

Brady (one of the two cutest whippets ever, along with Appa) is a full-time resident of Friends in Christ. Brady loves to greet people with sweet love taps using the tip of his snoot. He lives fully present in each moment, and (we believe) he has (mostly) reached enlightenment. Brady is super fast and loves to chase rabbits and squirrels (though he has yet to catch one).

Meet Appa

Appa is the newest resident of Friends in Christ. Though he’s small in stature, he has a big presence. He’s energetic and outgoing, fun and playful, and super fast. Unlike Brady who has yet to catch a squirrel, Appa has caught many. Appa loves going on adventures, but once he’s home, he likes to nap and snuggle.
